I did not write my book, Functional and Funded, because we need another "fundraising book." The Nonprofit Forest is filled with them. I did write it because of a fortunate life working among people in nonprofits of all kinds for a long time. I wanted to tell my story of those experiences, and humbly share the wisdom this allowed me to aggregate. At the same time, this book of mine features a point of departure from, let's call it, business as usual when it comes to reaching out for financial support in a nonprofit organization. Not surprisingly, I call it business as unusual and it's details are implied in the subtitle of the book, Securing Your Nonprofit's Assets From The Inside Out. The catch phrase/hashtag is Muscle and Money For Your Nonprofit.
